Your tasks:

  • Assess any arising legal questions from the business based on experience, applicable court rulings as well as best practice
  • Develop the existing compliance infrastructure in the Berlin business, including monitoring the legal and regulatory environment
  • Provide legal advice to new product initiatives and projects
  • Create and negotiate new contracts with external vendors as well as internal suppliers
  • Support in areas of customer complaints where legal impact is visible
  • Liaise with Board members as well as Supervisory Board members
  • Ensure end-to-end communication of decisions to the relevant company stakeholders
  • Advise members of the legal, governance, accounting and tax departments of the implications of proposed policies
  • Point of contact between the Berlin business and the UK legal department
  • Maintain statutory books and applicable registers

Your knowlege/experience:

  • Recognised law degree / economic law degree or equivalent (Qualified lawyer under German law / Master)
  • Extensive professional experience
  • Fluency in German and English
  • Background in banking preferable
  • Good information analysis/interpretation skills and PC literate (MS Office)
