Your tasks:

  • Manage the delivery and co-ordination of statutory reporting requirements.  This includes statutory accounts, management and supervisory board reporting as well as half year and year end reporting
  • Manage and co-ordinate the production and review of local Annual Report and Accounts under HGB and Group Reporting under IFRS combining the financial results of the German and Netherlands business units
  • Support and maintain strong relationships with external auditors; delivering local and group external audit sign-offs
  • Assess the effectiveness of complex end to end processes by ensuring all financial reporting risks are identified
  • Manage the resolution of financial control issues
  • Support the Financial Control Working Group.  Set the Financial Control Agenda and ensure senior stakeholders across the business (DE, NL) are engaged and driving operational processes to deliver a robust financial control environment
  • Manage the local operational cash management including all local invoice and expense processing
  • Support the strategic 5 year planning and operational planning, including liquidity, capital and dividend planning in IFRS and HGB
  • Accountable for ensuring up to date knowledge of applicable accounting standards (HGB & IFRS) are consistently applied across the business (DE, NL)

Your knowlege/experience:

  • Business degree with focus on e.g. accounting, audit, controlling.  CA ACA, CIMA preferred
  • Several years of experience in financial reporting and statutory accounting
  • Very good understanding of financial accounting standards and regulations (IFRS, HGB)
  • Ability to understand complex financial results and articulate key messages and issues to stakeholders
  • Very good analytical and conceptual skills
  • Very good skills in Excel, Word and Power Point, Experience of Oracle and SAP a benefit
  • Very good verbal and written communications skills in German and English
