Your tasks:

You will support our team in the Netherlands and provide advice to internal stakeholders regarding the implementation of applicable LBG policies as well as all legal questions of the business

  • Define new controls and monitor existing controls to ensure the business remains within risk appetite
  • Review local processes and procedures to identify control deficiencies and potential risks
  • Maintain and execute the local compliance plan and monitoring plan and enhance the compliance process
  • Assess any arising legal question from the business based on experience, applicable court rulings as well as best practice
  • Provide legal advice to new product initiatives/ projects on an ad hoc and individual basis
  • Creation and support in negotiation of new contracts with external vendors as well as internal suppliers including ensuring compliance of T&Cs
  • Challenge current practices and the applicability and implementation of rules and requirements to ensure ongoing efficiency
  • Provide advice on potential regulatory risks to new product initiatives, projects and changes

Your knowledge/experience:

  • A University Master’s degree in law, economics or equivalent
  • Risk Management or Certified Compliance Officer qualification or equivalent is preferred
  • Background in banking and specifically in mortgages
  • Several years relevant experience in a risk or compliance function
  • Sound knowledge of Dutch financial services related law and regulations
  • Sound knowledge of the Dutch mortgage market
  • Ability to translate theory into practice, develop operational policies and procedures and ensure that these are understood and implemented
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and in writing (Dutch, English and preferably German)
