Your tasks:

  • Build high quality, sustainable code that meets the agreed standards and adheres to procedures and best practice laid out in the Technical Implementation Standards
  • Producing responsive website templates with HTML, CSS, JS and React.js based on given prototype or design
  • Support the team:
    • translating business needs into objectives and requirements, both business and technical
    • with product backlog grooming, sprint planning activities, user story creation to ensure that the development effort required for buildingthe code is fully considered in planning activities

    • defining/refining the acceptance criteria to ensure the solution meets the identified business need
    • testing the output of their work prior to independent testing
    • resolving defects with QA/tester whilst communicating lessons learnt to grow knowledge and prevent similar issues in the future
    • ensuring that appropriate documentation and unit test evidence are available and up to date
  • Participate in quality assurance reviews to ensure the products are truly fit for purpose
  • Strive to operate Software Engineering tools effectively and follow industry standards
  • Work with Centres of Excellence to comply with relevant legislation and internal/external standards related to software Engineering and software security

Your knowledge/experience:

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent work experience, in IT or the financial sector
  • Proven experience in producing quality code deliverables
  • Experienced in working in a SCRUM development team
  • Skills with:
    • modern object-oriented programming languages, e.g. Java
    • HTML, CSS, JavaScript and a development framework, e.g. React
    • building APIs and micro services, e.g. REST, Spring Boot
    • Relational databases and JPA
    • Eclipse, IntelliJ, Git or GitLab development environments
    • build automation technologies, e.g. Gradle, Jenkins or TeamCity
    • test frameworks, e.g. JUnit
  • Good knowledge of Confluence, JIRA
  • Fluency in English, German a strong plus
