Your tasks:

  • Lead the delivery and co-ordination of our local general ledger accounting for LB GmbH business units under IFRS. This includes the preparation and review of accounts for month end, quarterly, half year and year-end reporting.
  • Lead delivery, review and co-ordination of finance shared services to other LBG European business units (Invoice and Expense processing and bank reconciliation).
  • Support internal and external audit activities including financial accounting input to year-end external audit.
  • Oversight and review of balance sheet, ensuring accurate reporting and controlling of all elements of the balance sheet and compliance to Lloyds Banking Group accounting policies.  Lead the monthly balance sheet attestation review process.
  • Ensure a robust control environment including supporting the GmbH financial control working group with a focus on deep dives and reviews of key financial processes.
  • Ensure robust reconciliations are in place. Review of underlying source system reconciliations, data mapping (and reconciliation of Core Banking System including annual rollover of sub-ledger.
  • Provide accounting input to Finance, IT and strategic projects including new product launches.
  • Lead and develop a team of Finance professionals (8 colleagues).

Your knowledge/experience:

  • Master degree with focus on e.g. accounting, audit, controlling. CA ACA, CIMA preferred
  • Several years of experience in financial reporting and statutory accounting
  • Very good understanding of financial accounting standards and regulations (IFRS essential, HGB preferred)
  • Ability to understand complex financial results and articulate key messages and issues to stakeholders
  • Very good analytical and conceptual skills
  • Very good skills in Excel, Word and Power Point, Experience of Oracle and SAP a benefit
  • Very good verbal and written communications skills in German and English
  • Team leader with experience leading teams and operating in matrix structures
