Your tasks:

  • Manage the external audit of LB plc Berlin payments branch and co-ordinate audit of other in-scope reporting units as appropriate
  • Provide support and draft input for local financial statements including HGB Notes and Management Report (for Lloyds Bank GmbH and LB plc) especially for year-end closing
  • SME of applicable accounting standards specifically relating to credit institutions (IFRS & HGB), ensuring a consistent application across the business (Germany and Netherlands)
  • Lead on monitoring of applied accounting standards, providing impact assessments for expected changes and support on implementation to meet new requirements
  • Provide essential input for updating local accounting manuals and discuss IFRS changes with group
  • Support of assessment of effectiveness of complex end to end processes by ensuring that all financial reporting risks are identified and appropriately mitigated and support on ongoing improvement
  • Evaluate projects and investments in relation to accounting methodology (IFRS & HGB) and advise on treatment both in the project phase and BAU
  • Lead on local and group finance governance topics

Your knowledge/experience:

  • Master degree with focus on e.g. accounting, audit, controlling; CA ACA, CIMA are preferred
  • At least 5 years experiences in financial reporting and statutory accounting or a Big4 audit firm
  • Very good understanding of financial accounting standards and regulations (IFRS, HGB), specific bank accounting know how is a bonus
  • Ability to understand complex financial transactions and to assess their accounting treatments
  • Very good analytical and conceptual skills
  • Very good skills in Excel, Word and Power Point, Experience of Oracle and SAP is a benefit
  • Fluent in German written and spoken is essential, good English is a bonus
