With immediate effect we are looking for a

Financial Controller (f/m)

Your tasks

  • Finance business partner support to the Executive team, supporting the business through financial evaluation and recommendation on new initiatives, particularly in relation to pricing and credit risk
  • Responsible for the preparation of all financial planning (Q1F, Q2F, Q3F) processes and stress testing including the development / improvements of the existing planning models for income, cost and impairment
  • Liaising with all relevant departments (e.g. Marketing, Risk, IT) to understand the business drivers that may impact the financials (backward and forward looking). This includes preparation of internal MI and raising awareness with all business heads re budget and actual spend and FTE (Financial Control)
  • Acting as the first line of defense to review credit performance in actuals and forecasting and feasibility of new initiatives with the risk function and support the implementation of IFRS 9
  • Performing analysis relating to all Asset & Liability Management topics, and behavioural maturity analysis for funding
  • Supporting month-end process by preparing monthly estimate figures and appropriate commentary
  • Contributing to projects where planning / modelling expertise is required
  • Developing strong relationship with LBG colleagues in Finance in UK
  •  Monthly review of project costs with Head of Change and Project leads via tracking costs and benefits
  • Proactively identifies areas of cost reduction and launch the corresponding initiatives
  • Provide financial support/modelling for implementation of new projects

Your knowledge/experience

  • Holds a recognized accounting qualification and educated to degree level
  • Is highly commercial with strong knowledge of external environment
  • Good accounting skills in an IFRS environment – with experience in the financial sector
  • Very good IT skills (data base queries, Excel formulas, financial modelling) and understanding of data structure
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to consistently produce accurate work within tight timescales
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, German a plus
  • Knowledge of financial derivatives and funding structures desirable
  • Some travel is expected within this role
